The ANIC Business Support Unit was established in August 2005 to provide colleges with a range of services in relation to the Northern Ireland College Information System (NICIS) as defined and agreed through a college service level agreement.
NICIS forms the nucleus for information management in all colleges, allowing curriculum systems, library systems and external stakeholders to integrate with data held in each college system. The Project is managed by ANIC on behalf of DEL and the Business Support Unit has been established to provide permanent support to colleges for all aspects of the solution.
The main elements of the deliverables by the Business Support Unit to each college includes;
Training on all elements of the college information systems which mainly involves;

Admissions,
Examinations,
Registers,
QLE,
Departmental Returns,
Human Resource Record,
HR Enquiry & Reporting
Estates Management and 3rd Party Interfaces.

Contract monitoring and software acceptance testing on behalf of colleges
